Milwaukee – Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid admitted on Sunday that it might have to undergo another surgery on the left knee that has disturbed it in the past year if it does not feel better by the end of the season.
Lisa Salters of ESPN reported in the TVs ABC of the 76ers’ 135-127 Loss At Milwaukee Bucks This Embiid told him that he thought that repairing his knee “will probably suffer another surgery and a long period of recovery, which he had not had after the initial injury last February.”
The MVP 2022-23 was not as final on this subject when he spoke to journalists after the match, but said that intersane surgery could at least be a possibility.
“I think the simple answer is that when you have something incoherent, at some point, you have to do something,” said Embiid. “We don’t know what it is. We examine all the options.
Embiid returned to action on Tuesday after missing 15 games because of his knee problem. He collected on average 26.3 points, 10 rebounds and 7.3 assists in the three games he played in last week.
He only played 39 games last season because of a meniscus torn in his left knee. The 76ers announced in early February of this season that he had undergone surgery. Embiid returned in early April, was part of the 76 -late qualifying series, then won a gold medal with the American Olympic team last summer.
Embiid admitted after Sunday’s match that he had not had enough time after undergoing surgery last year.
“At one point, I probably need just, especially when summer arrives, these few months to recover completely,” said Embiid. “As I said, I don’t know what it is, but if it continues to be the same model, then you must obviously try something else.”
Embiid, 30, has an average of 24.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 15 games this season.
“Each day, take it day by day,” said Embiid. “If that gets worse, then you have to do something. If it is not coherent enough, then it is not good enough.
