The government takes on significant measures to fill the skills gap and improve the global competitiveness of workers aspiring to work abroad, especially in the Middle East.

During a session of the National Assembly, the parliamentary secretary for federal education and vocational training, Farah Naz Akbar, described the government’s development strategy.

The government has created Pakistan Skill Company and Pakistan Skill Development Fund to centralize and improve vocational training across the country.

The revisions of the National Professional Qualification Framework (NVQF) also aligned Pakistani qualifications with international standards, in particular for European Union (EU) and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The government incorporates life and general skills – such as communication, problem solving, teamwork and labor ethics – in technical and professional training programs, aimed at meeting the needs of employers in the Middle -East.

In addition, the program is updated to reflect industry trends and technological progress to ensure that Pakistani workers are prepared for the evolution of labor market demands.

Turning to skills -based training programs, which focus on practical skills and practical experience, the government ensures that workers are not only trained but also competent in specific employment skills required by employers in the Middle East.

These reforms are part of a wider strategy to stimulate Pakistan’s workforce and create better job opportunities for qualified workers abroad.

In addition, in response to concerns concerning the tragic of boat accidents involving illegal immigrants who try to reach the European coasts, the authorities also work to open legal avenues abroad.
