The Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb highlighted the country’s potential to export qualified work to Saudi Arabia alignment within the framework of the development of the 2030 vision of the kingdom.

Speaking on the sidelines of the emerging conference of market economies in Alula, Aurangzeb stressed the growing opportunities for Pakistan to support the economic transformation of Saudi Arabia.

“We believe that there is great potential in terms of exports from Pakistan, in particular with regard to qualified work, in terms of everything that Saudi Arabia needs in terms of execution of the 2030 vision” , he said, adding: “So there are a number of opportunities for both countries to work together.”

Saudi Arabia’s 2030 vision aims to reduce the Kingdom’s dependence on oil and boost sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, leisure and tourism. The initiative has created an increasing demand for skilled workers, which Pakistan hopes to respond.

With more than two million Pakistani people already working in Saudi Arabia, the country remains a major source of funding for Islamabad. While most Pakistani workers in the Kingdom are employed in blue -colored jobs, the demand for qualified labor should increase while Saudi Arabia modernizes its economy.

The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of Pakistan has worked on a new education policy to train at least one million young people per year with technical skills adapted to employment in the Gulf region, including the ‘Saudi Arabia.

In addition, the Saudi Development Fund (SFD) proposed a partnership with the Pakistani government to provide training programs to provide “modern and relevant skills” required by the Saudi labor market, according to the office of the office Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
