Decrocusing the mystery surrounding the death of the famous poet of Sindhi Allah Bux popularly known as Dr Akash Ansari, the main Superintendent of the Police (SSP), Dr. Farrukh Lanjar, said on Sunday that the initial probe suggested that the poet had been killed before being burned.

The famous poet of Sindhi, 69, died when a fire broke out in his house located in the citizen colony, Hyderabad on Saturday.
Citing the results of the survey, the police said that the poet had been killed before his body was burned. He said they were waiting for the autopsy report, adding that doctors also confirmed that his death was not accidental. He said investigations were underway.
Expressing the doubt of the involvement of his adoptive son in the murder, the police said that there were problems between the duo in the past.
Earlier, the police included the poet’s adopted son and the driver in the investigation on the suspicion that his death was perhaps not accidental, officials confirmed.
Police placed the two suspects in police custody as the investigations continue.
His cousin Jan Mohammad Ansari revealed that the deceased poet had previously made a first report of information (FIR) against his adopted son, Latif Akash, accusing him of attempted murder. He also alleged that the son was drug addict and threatened Akash’s life. The family envisages legal action after consultations.
Meanwhile, Akash’s friend, Dr. Ilmuddin Ansari, said the post mortem exam was carried out due to the suspicion of unfair play. He added that the report showed signs of torture on the body.
Latif, after the incident was revealed on Saturday, said that Kash was sleeping when a fire broke out in his room around 8:30 am.
The members of the deceased family took his body to Badin to bury, but at the request of the authorities, the poet’s body was brought to the university hospital in Liaquat, Hyderabad, for an autopsy.
The police later expressed the possibility of a short circuit that may have caused the fire. They also said that his son was at home when the incident occurred and had asked for help from rescue agents and neighbors to save his father’s life.
Police also added that the poet had filed a case against his adopted son in 2024, but later buried the ax.
Sindh -chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah ordered investigations to the incident. In accordance with the instructions of the chief minister, Hyderabad SSP trained a team of five members, led by the SP Masood IQBAL headquarters, to investigate the incident.
