A van plunged into a Kasur drain by claiming the lives of at least eight people and wounding two other injured.

The incident took place near Raiwind, when 10 people returned from a wedding on Friday, local media reported.

Local police said the vehicle, which was a transport box van, had lost control and fell into the drain.

The rescue teams, including the 1122 rescue staff, responded quickly to the scene and transported the wounded to Baba Bulleh Shah in Kasur to be treated. The two survivors would be in a stable state. The victims were identified as members of the same group who attended marriage.
