The Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb, said on Tuesday that the government would plan to establish a national cryptography council to ensure that the country’s digital asset ecosystem evolves safe, compliant and sustainable.
The Minister of Finance made these remarks by presiding over a high -level meeting on digital assets in Islamabad. The council will serve as a dedicated advisory body including representatives of the key government, regulatory authorities and industry experts, he added.
The Minister said that he will also collaborate with friendly countries to develop standardized executives for international digital economic commitment.
Aurangzeb expressed government’s commitment to exploring digital assets and joining blockchain technology as part of a broader strategy to modernize the financial sector.
He ordered relevant stakeholders to formulate a complete framework that guarantees security, transparency, regulatory compliance and economic viability while protecting financial crimes and illicit activities.
The Minister also underlined the need for a balanced approach that encourages innovation and investment in digital assets while maintaining strict regulatory monitoring in accordance with international standards.
The meeting attended foreign delegates, including the advisers of American president Donald Trump for digital assets.
