
ٰ Islamabad: By emphasizing the supremacy of the Constitution, the conference of the Great Opposition Alliance began on Wednesday in Islamabad.
The development comes after the opposition leaders announced to continue the event following an emergency group in Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-E-Pakistan (TTAP) Mahmood Khan Achakzai.
The meeting was followed by the secretary general of Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI), the chief Salman Akram Raja, the chief of Sunni Ittehad (sic), Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Awam Pakistan’s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Majlis Wahdat-E- Muslimeen (MWM) Nasirazi and others, Nasira and others, MWM) and others, MWM) and others, MWM) and others, MWM) and others, MWM) and others, Nasira.
“We will hold these illegitimate leaders responsible in each street. We do not accept this illegitimate assembly,” said Achakzai while expressing a lack of confidence in the Legislative Assembly.
The convergence of the opposition parties comes in the context of the negotiations now attached between the PTI and the ruling coalition which has not produced many results despite several cycles of talks.
Since then, the Party based on Imran Khan has embarked on a contact campaign – initiated in light of the directives of the former PM – the leaders of the TTAP also visited Sindh to meet the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) with the Two parties agreeing to work together for the supremacy of the Constitution and the independence of the judiciary and the parliament in the country.
The two parties also agreed to train committees as the next step to work together to obtain a common program.
The declaration published by the opposition gathered accentuating the existence of serious crises resulting in a quagmire of instability.
“The history of Pakistan is witness that the country suffers from serious crises over time. At the start, we tried to lay the foundations of a state in development, prosperous and democratic, but conspiracies, an interference of the anti -democratic forces , a weak political system, corruption and institutional conflicts have pushed the country into a quagmire of instability, “read the declaration.
Noting that the 2024 elections raised questions about the democratic process and trampled on the people’s mandate, the press release also declared that the country was at a crossroads where it has become impossible to go ahead, and every day Who passes, a disappointment and an uncertainty increasingly the people.

Addressing the forum, the head of the TTAP Achakzai stressed the fundamental human desire to participate in governance.
He said the advantages of independence had not been reduced to the base, leaving many private citizens on their share in decision -making.
Achakzai expressed his concern that the inhabitants of Pakistan had not been invented in governance. He deplored that the execution of his rights often leads to baseless accusations.
Stressing his own experiences, Achakzai said: “We were imprisoned countless times, but we never supported ourselves against Pakistan”.
He recalled that even when his father was in prison, he continued to sing the national anthem with pride.
By reflecting on his parliamentary parliament, he mentioned that by taking the oath as MNA in 1993, he wondered if it was simply a formality. “The speaker at the time assured me that it was not the case,” he added.
Achakzai has also criticized the treatment of February 8 elections, describing it as an unprecedented violation of constitutional principles.
He said: “We are looking for the right to govern in this country, and this right can only be achieved by the supremacy of the Constitution”.
In addition, he stressed the importance of remembering those whose sacrifices had paved the way for political power.
“Those who reach power through the sacrifices of martyrs and the struggles of political workers should never be forgotten,” he concluded.
“Dysfunctional nations”
Meanwhile, speaking at the conference, Awam Pakistan’s Abbasi said that the government was so afraid that even a conference to discuss the Constitution could not take place.
Expanding the symposium agenda, the old-PM noted that it would focus on the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law.
He also criticized his – Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz (PML -N) – and the former Party of Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) – for imposing restrictions on the conference.
Abbasi asked why the authorities had not ended political instability in the country. “When political parties abandon their principles, nations cannot work,” he said.
He condemned the introduction of laws to suppress votes and expressed his concern in the face of the state of justice in the country. “It is regrettable that even to speak has become difficult,” he added.
The politician warned that without democracy and respect for public opinion, the country could not progress.
Removal of media
For his part, Pakistan President Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), AFZAL Butt, said that all political parties suppressed the voice of the media once in power.
He urged Achakzai to obtain a statement under the oath of political leaders, ensuring that they would not repeat past errors.
Butt recalled that when journalists camped to protest against the law on the prevention of electronic crimes (PECA), the Minister now primary Shehbaz Sharif and his ally Bilawal Bhutto joined them in solidarity.
“These leaders had previously declared that the PECA should not be approved, but once in power, they (succeeded the same),” he added.
He also criticized a former Prime Minister for qualifying the court’s decision against media restrictions on an individual sentenced to a foreign conspiracy.
Speaking at the conference, the main journalist and anchor Asma Sherazi said that the opposition should also identify those of its ranks which have disseminated false news.
She said that individuals in political parties responsible for the dissemination of false news serves as facilitators of draconian laws like PECA.
“Freedom of expression has never been removed in the past, and it will not be in the future,” she said.
Sherazi criticized the opposition to label Peca a black law while making the media suppression of his first priority when he came to power.
