Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif threw the basic stone of the Danish University, a project worth 190 million pounds sterling (60 billion rupees).

Addressing the revolutionary ceremony in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude to chief judge Yahya Afridi and the former chief judge Qazi Faez Isa for facilitating the transfer of 190 million pounds to the national treasury.

He said that students from the four provinces would have access to higher education at university, with free education for disadvantaged children.

The Prime Minister stressed that Daanish University is said to be a global institution with high -level teachers, research centers and academic excellence. The first section of the university should become operational by August 14, 2026.

Note that students from all over the country would obtain registrations at various university faculties only on the basis of merit, the Prime Minister declared that a trust would be created and initially, the government would provide 10 billion rupees as seed currency and later, it would appear on the amount perceived to fees of rich students while poor students would be helped.

Revealing that the names of the Daanish University Council of Governors had been finalized so that the brilliant minds could contribute, Prime Minister Shehbaz assured that the government would have no relationship with its functions and its administration as it would work independently.

The Minister of Planning Ahsan Iqbal stressed that the project had been funded by public funds, the previous government of which would have deprived the nation.

Danish University, said Iqbal, would be the following level where they would prepare labor for the industrial revolution and offer installations necessary to transmit education in AI, bio-technology, robotics, space sciences and other emerging technologies thanks to applied research to create a platform to fill the gap between universities and industries.

The Minister also noted that the government would also seek global partnerships for the transfer of technology and to ensure that this institution should provide technology leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs.
