Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif sentenced the attack on the Minister of State Kheeal Das Kohistani on Saturday.
He spoke to Kheal Das Kohistani on the phone and expressed his sympathy.
The Prime Minister assured the Minister of State an in -depth investigation into the incident.
He said the attack on public representatives was unacceptable and added that the people involved in the incident would receive an exemplary sentence.
Earlier, Thitta demonstrators targeted the Minister of State’s vehicle for religious affairs, Kheeal Das Kohistani, during a demonstration against controversial projects in the irrigation canal.
The incident took place while the Kohistani convoy tried to go through an area where members of the nationalist party organized a demonstration. According to Express News, the demonstrators, angry by the presence of the convoy, reacted by pelant the vehicle with stones, eggs and tomatoes, accompanied by noisy slogans.
Despite the hostile reception, the convoy was able to get out of the area safely without any additional injury or clashes reported.
