Japan plans to relax the safety rules of automobiles for imports as part of its tariff negotiations with the United States, Nikkei Asia reported on Sunday.

Japan has been affected with 24% of exports to the United States, although these prices have, like most of us, the prices of US President Donald Trump, have been interrupted for 90 days. A universal rate of 10% remains in place, as is an obligation of 25% on cars, a pillar of the Japanese economy in export.

While Japan and the United States use different security standards, Tokyo sees room to soften collision tests as negotiation currency in commercial negotiations, Nikkei said citing anonymous sources.
