Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan brought a touch of Pakistani culture to the Pakistan-Belarus Business Forum 2024 by displaying a beautifully handcrafted rickshaw.
The two-person taxi, with its intricate designs and showcasing local craftsmanship, has won the admiration of Belarusian Energy Minister Alexei Kushnarenko.
In a moment of levity after the forum, Minister Kushnarenko explored the rickshaw, sitting inside to appreciate its design and comfort.
Jam Kamal, while sharing the details, highlighted the hard work and artistry behind the vehicle. He also proposed exporting these iconic rickshaws to Belarus, highlighting their cultural and economic value.
Kushnarenko expressed keen interest in the idea, being enthusiastic about exploring such unique business opportunities.
This interaction added a personal and cultural dimension to the event, symbolizing strengthening ties and mutual appreciation between Pakistan and Belarus.
The development comes as Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and his 68-member business delegation are on a three-day visit to Pakistan with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation through a number of agreements in various sectors of the economy.
According to a curtain raiser released by the Foreign Ministry, the Belarusian president “will hold in-depth talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discuss areas of bilateral cooperation and engagement.”
Furthermore, the statement said that several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) will be signed during the visit.
The high-level delegation includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Energy, the Minister of Justice, the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Natural Resources, the Minister of Emergency Situations and the Chairman of the Committee of military industry.
Forty-three prominent business figures from Belarus are also part of the delegation.
