- Modi blame for false accusations of terrorism.
- Pakistan has united against the violation of the Treaty of India.
- Bilawal is a peaceful and victorious struggle.
The President of the Pakistan Party Party (PPP), Bilawal, Bhutto-Zardari, said on Friday that, just as the PPP did not allow a controversial channel project without consensus, the Pakistanis would be united and will give a resounding response to the assault of the Indian Prime Minister Naretra Modi on the Industry River.
Condemning the unilateral decision of India to suspend the Water Treaty in the Indus (IWT), he issued a severe warning to New Delhi, saying: “The Indus is ours and will remain ours – either our water will cross it, or their blood.”
Addressing a public rally in Sukkur, he congratulated the people and declared that it was the success of his peaceful struggle that the federal government had decided that no canal would be built on the Indus without consensus in the Common Interest Council (CCI).
He added that an agreement had been concluded between the PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), bearing the signatures of the leaders of the two parties.
“It is now the official policy of the Government of Pakistan that no new channel will be built without the mutual consent of all the provinces.”
He paid tribute to the PPP workers for their fight against the controversial project, saying that this would not have been possible if the Jiyalas had not taken on the ground.
“I had promised that we would protect the Sindh-and today, the Sindh has been saved from these threats. This is your victory,” he added.
In the light on his recent meeting with the Prime Minister and the questions agreed during the discussions, he stressed that it had been decided that the federal government would put the project before the ICC.
He stressed that the CCI was made up of representatives of the Federation as well as all the provinces, and before this agreement, the decisions on the construction of new channels could have been made on the basis of majority votes, even without the consent of the people.
“But we are grateful to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who listened to your concerns (from the people), and now the majority of the Council – the PMLN and the PPP – have agreed that no new channel will be built without your consent,” he said.
The joint declaration, he said, said that the federal government had agreed to immediately convene a meeting of the CCI, and that any project without consensus will be referred to the ministries concerned.
He stressed that the agreement concluded with him, approved by the Prime Minister and the Federal Government, had once again said that all the provinces had legitimate allegations on water and that the 1991 water agreement and the 2018 water policy were based on mutual consensus.
Modi’s attempt to “hide his own failures”
Addressing the nation, Bilawal said that the Indus was attacked again – this time by India.
He said that a terrorist incident had taken place in Jammu and the cashmere illegally Indian (Iioj & K), which New Delhi falsely attributed to Pakistan.
He reiterated that Pakistan strongly condemned terrorism, being the most affected country.
He declared in an attempt to hide his own failures, Modi leveled false accusations against Pakistan concerning the incident in the IIOJK, and then announced the unilateral suspension of the Industrial Water Treaty.
He said that his party raised his voice for the Indus in the streets and cities across the country and convinced the federal government not to make new channels: “We are now going to fight once again.”
“The inhabitants of Pakistan are courageous – we will resist India with full force, and our armed forces will give an appropriate response to the borders.”
He also declared that it was unacceptable that India simply decides one day, he no longer recognized the industrial water Treaty and expected that it became a reality.
“Such a decision will be accepted at the international level or by the people of Pakistan.”
He urged the nation to unite during this difficult period and to give an appropriate response to India, which has currently put the eyes maliciously on the Indus.
He said that the struggle to protect the river will continue until India withdraws its unilateral decision. He said the PPP was with Prime Minister Shehbaz on India’s issue.
Bilawal also announced that the PPP would hold a large public gathering in Mirpurkhas on May 1.
