After the provocative measures of India in the aftermath of Pahalgam’s attack, which cost the life of 26 tourists, the Pakistani army promised to respond “surely and decisively” to any Indian attempt to impose war, affirming that the aspirations of the people of Pakistan “will be respected at all costs”.

The assertion occurred at a meeting of the Special Conference of Corps Commanders (CCC) chaired by the Chief of the Staff of the Army (COAS), General Syed Asim Mnnir at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.

The two nuclear neighbors have experienced an increased period of tensions since the April 22 attack on tourists in the picturesque seaside resort of Pahalgam illegally occupied Jammu-et-Cachemire (Iiojk), in which at least 26 people were killed.

New Delhi has linked Islamabad to attack without offering evidence and has taken a wave of punitive measures to demarcate the links, in particular by suspending the Water Treaty, by revoking the visas of the Pakistani and by closing the border crossing of Wagah-Attari, among others.

Islamabad, in response, ordered the expulsion of Indian diplomats and military advisers, canceling visas for Indian nationals, with the exception of Sikhs pilgrims and closing the main border crossing on its side.

Pakistan also denies its involvement in the attack and has proposed to participate in a credible and transparent investigation.

During today’s special theory of the best army brass, the forum carried out a complete examination of the geo-strategic environment in force, particularly emphasizing the current pretense of Pakistan-Indies and the wider regional security calculation.

Participants reaffirmed the unshakable determination of the Armed Forces of Pakistan to maintain the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression or mishap.

Meanwhile, Coas Munir praised the unwavering professionalism, the firm morale and the operational preparation of the armed forces, standing in the unit with the inhabitants of Pakistan to defend the fatherland at all costs. He stressed the critical importance of increased vigilance and proactive preparation for all fronts.

The forum has expressed serious concerns about the intensification of Indian atrocities in Jammu-et-Cachemire of Indian illegal occupation, in particular following the recent incident of Pahalgam, as well as the continuous targeting of innocent civilians within the framework of the control line (LOC) by the Indian occupation forces.

“It has been reiterated that these inhuman and not caused acts only serve to degenerate regional tensions and will be encountered with a resolved and proportional response,” the statement added.

The forum noted, with serious concern, the constant model of the exploitation of India crises to achieve political and military objectives. “They followed a predictable model-by which internal governance failures are outsourced,” he added.

“These incidents have often coincided with India’s unilateral movements to modify the status quo, as seen in 2019 when India also exploited the Pulwama incident to unilaterally modify the status quo of IIOJK, by revocation of article 370,” noted the ISPR.

In the last case, he said, the episode of Pahalgam “seems to be part of a deliberate strategy to divert the attention of Pakistan far from the Western Front, as well as the national efforts in progress for economic renewal; the two fronts where Pakistan wins in a decisive and lasting way.”

“Such diversion tactics aimed at providing an operational breathing space to Indian terrorist proxys will never succeed,” he added.

In the same vein, the forum has expressed a serious concern that India now exploits the pahalgam incident to undermine the long -standing treaty of the Indus waters, seeking to usurp the legitimate and inalienable water rights of Pakistan.

“This is a dangerous attempt at water armament, threatening the means of subsistence and subsistence of more than 240 million Pakistani and climbing strategic instability in South Asia,” he added.

The forum has also expressed a deep alarm on credible evidence of the direct participation of the Indian military and information in the orchestration of terrorist activities in Pakistan. “These actions sponsored by the State are in flagrant violation of international standards which are universally unacceptable.”

The forum has reiterated that the path from Pakistan to peace and development will not be dissuaded by terrorism, coercion or aggression – whether directly or by proxies. “The deliberate efforts to destabilize the Indian government will be confronted and defeated with resolution and clarity,” he added.

The forum ended with the army leader expressing total confidence in operational preparation, deterrent posture and morale of all training and strategic forces to defend the nation through the whole spectrum of threats.
