What you need to know
The Cavaliers have played three games at home but will soon have to dust off their jerseys on the road. They will venture away from home to take on the Atlanta Hawks on Friday at 2:30 p.m. ET at State Farm Arena. The Cavaliers strut with some offensive power as they have averaged 123.5 points per game this season.
The Cavaliers were supposed to head into the game after a big win against the Hawks, but things played out a little differently in their matchup on Wednesday. The Cavaliers fell 135-124 to the Hawks. Cleveland led 27-8 in the first half, but couldn’t maintain the lead.
The Hawks’ victory was a true team effort, with many players putting in strong performances. Perhaps the best of them was Jalen Johnson, who nearly had a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. The team also got help from Trae Young, who had a double-double with 20 points and 22 assists.
The Hawks worked as a unit and finished the game with 39 assists (they are ranked fourth in assists per game overall). This is the most assists they have posted since March.
Cleveland’s loss ended a ten-game home winning streak and dropped them to 17-2. As for Atlanta, they improved to 8-11 with the win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday’s game: The Cavaliers have been dynamite from deep this season, hitting 40.8 percent of their threes per game. It’s a different story for the Hawks, as they’ve made just 34.8 percent of their threes this season. Given the Cavaliers’ considerable advantage in this area, the Hawks will need to find a way to close that gap.

The line drifted a bit toward the Cavaliers, as the game opened with the Cavaliers as 3.5-point favorites.
