Former Foreign Minister and President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that Pakistan’s message of peace would win and that the message of the war of India would not be failed.

After completing the visit to the United States, Bilawal, with a high-level parliamentary delegation of nine members, is currently in the United Kingdom, to present Pakistan’s position on the recent military confrontation with India and to challenge New Delhi’s story at the international level.

The members of the parliamentary delegation are Hina Rabbani Khar, Sherry Rehman, Dr Musadik Malik, Khurram Dastgir Khan, Jalil Abbas Jilani, Tehmina Janjua, Bushra Anjum Butt and Syed Faisal Subzwari.

Addressing the media after his meeting in the British Parliament, the 36 -year -old politician said that wherever he had traveled, people supported peace – not war.

“Only one person (Indian Prime Minister Narendra) Modi, insists on war at all costs,” he said, reiterating his call for regional peace through dialogue and diplomacy.

The former Minister of Foreign Affairs said that British legislators had carefully heard Pakistan’s position on key issues, expressing the hope that the deputies he met would play their role to support peace efforts in South Asia.

“Pakistan’s message is clear – we want to establish peace through dialogue and diplomacy,” said Bilawal.

“Peace in our region is in the best interests of everyone.”

He also underlined the historical ties that Great Britain shares with Pakistan and India, suggesting that the United Kingdom could play a constructive role in the relaxation of tensions, in particular on the long-standing dispute of cashmere, which he described as “the unfinished agenda of the partition of the subcontinent”.

Bilawal stressed that the great Pakistani diaspora in Great Britain strongly wants peace in the region.

He argued that the peace sustained in the region would unlock opportunities for Great Britain for economic cooperation and trade, including the rebirth of key transit roads across South Asia.

“If the United Kingdom wishes to benefit from the commercial potential of the region, peace is a necessary condition,” he said.

“Transit roads, if activated, will bring advantages of all kinds.”

The politician has also criticized the current political position of India, accusing his management of promoting a story based on conflicts and division.

“Our case for peace is strong. The case of India for war is based on lies and division,” he said. “They want to divide not only their own people, but the whole region.”

“Wherever I have traveled, no one said they wanted war. Everyone wants peace. The only person demanding war at all costs is Modi,” added Bilawal.
