Islamabad: The Minister of Finance and Revenues Muhammad Aurangzeb presented the federal budget 2025-2026 on Tuesday with a total of 17,573 billion.

Addressing the budgetary session of the National Assembly, the financial Czar said that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) would receive 39.5 billion rupees for 170, adding that this amount would help to carry out the current projects.

“An allowance of 4.8 billion rupees was made for 31 current plans in the field of science and technology,” he added.

On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he declared that a particular emphasis was put to the creation of “Daanish schools” in less developed areas. He said 11 new “Daanish schools” will be established, three of which are at Azad Jammu-And-Cachemire (AJK) and Gilgit Baltistan, four Balutchistan and one in Islamabad. He said 9.8 billion rupees would be provided by the PSDP for the creation of these schools.

He said other projects in the education sector include the creation of early childhood education centers, computer laboratories and the National Institute of Excellence.

The financial Czar said that they were aimed at ensuring access to education, reducing the abandonment rate and improving the education standard.

“For these efforts, 18.5 billion rupees were reserved for the PSDP,” he added.

RS14.3 billion offered for health spending

Addressing the lower room of the Parliament, the Minister of Finance said that 14.3 billion rupees had been reserved for 21 key projects under the PSDP 2025-26 in the health sector.

The minister said 4 billion rupees had been reserved for the creation of Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Center Islamabad and RS1.7 billion for the Islamabad cancer hospital.

“RS1 billion have been reserved for the elimination of hepatitis C and 800 million rupees for the prevention and control of diabetics,” he added.

An intervention center from State of Art Stroke and an extension of criticism are and heart installations would be established at the cost of 900 million rupees, said the minister.

The Minister of Finance said that these projects will help overcome diseases, modernize health infrastructure and provide preventive care and quality health services to all citizens.
