Taftan: Some 714 nationals arrived in Pakistan from Iran via buses through the Taftan border, immigration officials said on Monday, while Tehran and Tel Aviv exchanged attacks for a fourth consecutive day.
Passengers included citizens, traders and drivers, said officials, adding that special security provisions had been put in place due to the Iran-Israel conflict.
Officials said three buses carrying 154 Pakistani students arrived at Taftan de Tehran. They added that the students would be transferred to Pakistan House after finishing immigration. This now bears the total number of students’ arrivals on the border at 214.
The repatriation process began after the military confrontation of Israel-Iran broke out on Friday.
Since Friday, Israel has launched large -scale strikes on Iran, targeting military bases, nuclear sites and residential areas across the country.
The attacks killed at least 224 people in the Islamic Republic, including the best military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians.
Iran retaliated with drone and missile dams that killed at least 24 people in Israel, according to the Prime Minister’s office.
Iran does not recognize Israel and has long accused it of having carried out hoof operations against its nuclear installations, as well as to assassinate its scientists.
Repatriation of Iraq
In a separate development today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in close coordination with Iraqi Airways, managed to facilitate the repatriation of 268 Pakistani nationals on Monday at two special Bassora flights to Karachi and Islamabad.
The two flights have safely reached Pakistan.
“The ministry remains actively engaged with the Iraqi respiratory tract and all the other Iraqi authorities concerned to ensure the safe and timely return of the Pakistani Zaireen remaining in Iraq,” said the spokesman for the foreign office in a statement.
He was invited to stay in close contact with the Pakistan Embassy in Baghdad, the Pakistani Zaire in Iraq, Baghdad, to designated Mandoobs and their respective airlines for timely updates concerning their travel arrangements.
Iraki Airways is currently operating daily flights on the Bassra – Dubai road. Today, some Pakistani nationals have planned for this option. Those interested in traveling via this path were encouraged to contact the Iraqi office in the nearest Airways for booking and assistance.
“The whole Zaireen is also advised to remain prepared for short-term trips. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to monitor the situation closely and remains fully determined to facilitate the safe and ordered yield of all the Pakistani Zaire,” he was added.
Closing of border crossing points
One day, the Balutchistan government has closed all the border crossing points with Iran in Panjgur, Gwadar and Kech for an unpertified period, citing regional instability and security problems after recent climbing in the Middle East.
The Ministry of the Interior also advised its citizens to avoid going to Iran due to the current conflict between Iran and Israel. In addition, the airspace between the two countries remains suspended.
Despite these closures, Taftan’s border crossing in the Chagai district remains operational.
The authorities have confirmed that cross -border trade and passenger movement continue as usual.
